About Cascadia

After obtaining his Master's Degree in Urban and Regional Planning, Steve moved to the Northwest in 1998. He currently resides in Silverton, Oregon. Steve is an outdoor enthusiast, has an interest in historic properties, and is passionate about economic development issues. He understands the value of excellent customer service and strives to be responsive to the specific goals and project needs of his clients.

As a land use consultant, Steve first developed experience at multi-disciplined firms in the Portland metro region. He served on a variety of project teams which included planners, surveyors, transportation engineers, landscape architects, biologists, and civil engineers. Steve obtained his national planning certification (AICP) in 2001 and then operated NW Land Development Services from 2003–2008. During this period, he obtained land use approvals for dozens of residential, commercial, and institutional projects.

To broaden his versatility as a planner, Steve served as the Community Development Director for the City of Silverton from 2008–2012. He then spent two years as a division manager at Oregon State Parks where he facilitated regional planning projects. Through these experiences, he acquired knowledge of many agency programs and developed expertise with citizen involvement techniques.

In 2015, Steve returned to the private sector and established Cascadia Planning + Development Services. Cascadia currently provides a variety of land use planning and land development services to property owners, home builders, land developers, and public agencies. Firm services include land use planning, feasibility studies, site design, application narratives, and presentations to decision-making boards. Cascadia has obtained numerous land use approvals from agencies in Oregon and Southwest Washington.
